Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is often an integral part of
treatments at our offices. Massage increases blood and lymph
circulation, which helps to clear metabolic waste, and helps deliver
oxygen and nutrients to muscles. Massage helps to decrease pain and
muscle tightness thus helping to maintain spinal alignment. Oftentimes
tight muscles are weak and therefore overworked. After therapeutic
massage decreases the muscle tightness, specific exercises can help to
strengthen the muscle and prevent tightness, called hypertonicity, from
recurring.
Our licensed and certified massage therapists provide a variety
of types of massage.
The four most common types of massage are:
-
Swedish massage: The most common type of massage, to relax and energize you.
-
Deep tissue massage: For muscle damage from an injury, such as whiplash or back strain.
-
Sports massage: To help prevent athletic injury, keep the body flexible and heal the body should injury occur.
-
Massage2Go (Chair massage): Massage of the upper body, while fully clothed and seated in a special portable chair.
