Corrective Exercises - Chiropractic Care, Ltd.
At Chiropractic Care, we will customize an
exercise program to meet your specific needs. Pinched nerves can
cause muscle weakness and even a decrease in your sense of balance.
Whether your condition is lower back or neck pain, a slipped disc,
rotator cuff syndrome or ankle sprain, exercises to strengthen the
appropriate muscles is essential to maintain your progress and prevent
future injuries.
Exercises to strengthen the muscles that
maintain correct posture may be an important part of your care. Good
posture helps maintain spinal alignment and decreases the muscle
tightness that occurs when these muscles are forced to work too hard.
Good posture can also help prevent premature spinal degeneration.
Strengthening the core muscles of the back and abdomen is extremely
important to help support and protect the lower back.
In many cases the doctor will prescribe and
demonstrate gentle stretches for you to perform at home. If your
condition warrants, our Certified Personal Trainers may also provide
one-on-one exercise instruction.
At both of our offices, we provide Muscle
Activation Technique (MAT) performed by a certified specialist. MAT is a
form of manual therapy that uses a systemic approach to help identify
and treat muscular imbalances that relate to pain, injury, weakness and
inhibited muscles. When a muscle becomes weak it loses neurological
input to the central nervous system resulting in a decrease of joint
stability. MAT was designed to identify and correct instability and help
restore normal ranges of motion.
